With the skills acquired, students can start their technical career with selected companies in the industry immediately after their SPM examinations.
Targeted at the B40 category, this programme is best suited for those who are vocationally incline and interested in a technical career. Students are recruited and start in Form 4 for a weekly 3hours workshops for 10months which is then repeated in Form 5. Upon finishing SPM, the students transition straight into a combination of working full time and studying part time for another 6 months before undergoing an assessment to qualify for the UK’s City and Guilds Certificate, where they will become a fully qualified technician.
Students literally get a head start on their technical and engineering career, 6 months after SPM. If they choose to, they can continue to study to obtain their Diploma and Bachelor’s degree. This is truly a fast-track option and also without any financial outlay by their parents.
To start the ball rolling, ECM Libra Foundation pledged RM125,000 to co-sponsor 250 students for the 2-year programme, among a few other sponsors.
