Our partnership with non-profit industry-led initiative Penang Science Cluster (PSC) began in 2014 when we agreed to part-sponsor their ambitious Robotics Programme to ignite the interest of children in computer science and engineering for 100 schools in Penang and Kedah.

We funded the programme for 10 schools in Penang for two years, and through hands-on design, construction and programming of robots, students were able to pick up problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Encouraged by PSC’s positive outcomes in the Robotics Programme, the Foundation has committed to supporting another programme known as Code-on-Wheels for three years from 2017. This programme offers hands-on and project-based coding workshops in Scratch, Python, or Arduino programming with the aim of stimulating interest in computer science.

On average, PSC has been able to deliver the Code-on-Wheels programme to some 10,000 students a year at a cost of under RM5 per child.
